If, like me, you prefer to get your adrenaline fix without throwing yourself off the nearest precipice or scaring yourself on hair-raising theme park rides, then the mean and moody Audi RS 3 should interest you. Accelerate hard and the force punches you in the kidneys whilst you find yourself shouting ‘whooaaaa!’

Based on the A3, the RS 3 is likely to represent the swansong for the range before the car is replaced in 2012. It boasts a muscular frame covering massive 19-ich alloy wheels, and those subtle RS badges confirm it’s something special.
